Part 6: 2009 Giveaway Bobber - Mission Accomplished!
It’s finished.
We rolled our IronWorks/Brass Balls Bobbers Giveaway Bike off the Handy Industries bike lift for the final time, and we immediately took it outside to admire its Glenndyne translucent paint job under a warm Oklahoma autumn sun.
Without sounding biased, this is by far one of Aaron Glenn’s finer paint jobs, right down to its gold-and-black color scheme and skull graphics. We featured the faux gauge panel on the gas tank last issue, so check it out if you missed it .
The bike sparkles with other jewels, too. For starters there’s that big Crazy Horse engine cradled in the BBB frame. It feeds a drivetrain consisting of top-shelf components, too.
There’s no mistaking when the Crazy Horse kicks its feet, either; our D&D Performance Exhaust collector system (with reversed megaphone—too cool) emits a rather pleasing rumble at any speed.
“That’s what makes a Brass Balls Bobbers so special,” said Dar. “It’s our paint, our design and our bikes go like stink!.”
Tauer Machine’s open-belt primary drive that transfers power to the 52-spoke DNA rear wheel via our favorite transmission on the bobber market—a Baker Drivetrain Powerbox.
But hold on, there’s more. This bike stops as well as it goes, thanks to the Signature Series BBB/Hawg Halters brake calipers that clamp to the W8less rotors.

Those lightweight rotors are an upgrade on BBB bikes, and they certainly weren’t going to be overlooked on our giveaway bike. And, as on all BBB bikes, ours rolls on Metzeler rubber, in this case ME880 Marathons, which are known for their grip and long wear.
Zero growth tires from Metzeler allows for that slammed look.
So there you have it, our 2009 giveaway bike. By the time you read this, the lucky winner will have been selected and be getting prepared to receive the bike at Daytona Beach, Florida, during Bike Week.
